Celebrating a milestone of three decades in the professional lighting industry, German Light Products (GLP) celebrated its 30th anniversary with style.

GLP Americas, the North and South American subsidiary of GLP, brought us to the heart of GLP's global operations in Karlsbad, Germany, for a massive celebration. The event featured delicious food, live music, professional networking opportunities, and exciting new product debuts. German Light Products' History

Since its founding in 1994 by Udo Künzler, German Light Products' has been synonymous with cutting-edge lighting technology for the professional market. The company's inaugural product, the Patend Light, represented a groundbreaking fusion of disco scanners and emerging moving light technology, setting the stage for GLP's future innovations.



Throughout its history, GLP has introduced industry standards like the Impression X4 series and versatile JDC1, and continued to evolve with the newer, powerful X5 family and JDC2IP. The GLP team's dedication to understanding the needs of the touring, theatre, and studio markets worldwide has led to the creation of surprising solutions that enhance the creative possibilities for lighting and stage designers. Today, GLP continues to develop new products at its headquarters in Karlsbad, Baden-Württemberg, while expanding its global presence with branches in Los Angeles, Hong Kong, Great Britain, France, Sweden, and more.


30th-Anniversary Celebration

The 30th-anniversary Celebration at GLP's headquarters in Karlsbad was nothing short of spectacular. Guests were welcomed with a red carpet and champagne reception, setting the tone for an evening of elegance and excitement. The party featured an array of tasty food and drinks, catering to every palate.



The musical lineup was a highlight of the event, with performances by "The CurbSide Prophets," "Alice Merton," and "Michael Schulte." Following these incredible live performances, guests enjoyed an unforgettable evening in the GLP showroom.



New Product Debuts

GLP took the opportunity to unveil several new products during the party.


JDC2 IP

The highly anticipated JDC2 IP was on display throughout the campus. It is an upgraded version of the widely used JDC1, featuring enhanced LEDs and larger, brighter surrounding plates. This IP65-rated fixture boasts impressive durability and advanced features, including revamped firmware with over 100 digital animations (DigiFX), the ability to capture and display up to four NDI streams, an internal color effects engine, and advanced networking capabilities. Fusion Creos

We also caught a glimpse of the new FUSION Creos, a powerful addition to the FUSION Series by GLP. This LED Wash Light features 18 x 40W RGBL LEDs arranged in three lines of six pixels each. Its motorized 1:12 zoom offers a punchy 4.3° beam, making it a versatile tool for lighting designers.


GLP "SkyTracker"

The highlight of the party was the dramatic unveiling of a nearly 4-foot tall washlight. The "SkyTracker," promises to be a game-changer with a massive 750 mm fully illuminated beam diameter, it rivals the proven 3 kW and 7 kW xenon beam lights.



The SkyTracker offers several unique features:

  • Fully illuminated aperture with the same diameter as the outgoing beam

  • No external focus points within the outgoing beam

  • No laser classification, reducing hazards and permitting requirements

  • Energy-efficient operation, friendly to power infrastructure and the environment

  • Low maintenance thanks to LED technology and a stable mechanical design

  • IP65 protection against wind, rain, dust, dirt, fog fluid, and confetti particles
