Claypaky and @LimeLightWired joined forces at LDI 2024 to host the Ultimo Takeover, a full-day collaboration in celebration of the launch of the Ultimo Hybrid fixture. The energy on the show floor was electric, with lighting designers, technicians, and production companies gathering at the Claypaky booth to take in the light show and get hands-on with their latest innovations.
Behind the Scenes with Claypaky at LDI 2024
For us, the highlight of LDI 2024 was the chance to be honorary Claypaky team members for the day. Meeting the creative minds behind Claypaky's innovative products and engaging with the enthusiastic community of LDs and attendees was unforgettable. Our role included starting the light show (epic, we must say), engaging with attendees by handing out stickers and swag, and even hiding exclusive swag bags for those who followed along with our social media stories. The response was incredible as fans eagerly sought out the hidden gems, adding an element of fun and connection to the day. The legendary George Masek was kind enough to give us demos of all the new gear dropped - and we have to share it with you.
Ultimo Hybrid: The Ultimate Star of the Show
The star of the show was undoubtedly the Ultimo Hybrid, a powerful, versatile, and compact fixture Claypaky promises will redefine what is possible with a single moving head. Featuring IP66-rated water and dust resistance, this hybrid powerhouse effortlessly transitions between beam, spot, wash, and even profile modes, making it an all-in-one solution for LDs. Claypaky's return to the arc lamp delivers striking brightness, while an advanced effects engine unlocks virtually unlimited creative possibilities, thanks to its advanced effects engine. Whether used indoors or outdoors, the Ultimo Hybrid can carry your show and keep it visually interesting.
Tambora Family Evolves
Another standout at the booth was the Tambora family, which continues to push the boundaries of strobe and hybrid lighting design. You may already be familar with the Tambora Flash. The Tambora Flash set the stage for the entire Tambora family by redefining hybrid fixtures with its strobe, wash, and blinder capabilities in a modular design. Its innovative approach to combining units into line-array-style clusters and its Advanced Layer Management system paved the way for the Tambora lineup, offering unmatched versatility and creative possibilities for lighting designers.
The Tambora Stormy brings the classic strobe into the modern era, delivering seamless graphical effects, modular design, and full pixel control. Compact and powerful, it's a fixture designed for maximum impact, featuring 27 segments of RGBW SMD LEDs that provide wide coverage optimized for close-distance applications. Meanwhile, the Tambora Rays takes volumetric effects to a whole new level, offering 9×3 rows of high-power RGBWW LEDs with pixel-to-pixel control. With its ability to manage 27 individual LEDs, the Rays unlocks endless creative options, making it a must-have tool for designers seeking innovative lighting effects.
Volero Cube: The Crowd Favorite
Rounding out the impressive lineup was the Volero Cube, a fan-favorite fixture that garnered significant attention at the show. Combining beam, wash, and strobe effects with pixel-to-pixel control, the compact IP66 moving head is bothversatile and powerful. With four RGBW sections, a strobe center, and 360-degree pan and tilt, the Volero Cube offers dynamic lighting possibilities for both single-fixture use and complex multi-fixture arrangements.
